The Tulia's Artisan Gallery Impact Story
Tulia’s Artisan Gallery is a Latina-owned business based in Chicago with a mission to showcase high-quality Colombian craftsmanship. We collaborate with master artisans who preserve and strengthen the diverse cultures of Colombia. Tulia’s Artisan Gallery uses fair trade principles when collaborating with artisan partners, most of whom are indigenous and Afro-Colombians internally displaced in Colombia. At least 5% of each sale is given back to the Maach Den Foundation in Colombia, which is dedicated to preserving the cultural knowledge and traditions of the Wounaan Nonam people for the next generation. Their projects include artisan workshops, preserving traditional medicines - especially in midwifery, and providing emergency medical supplies to remote villages. The foundation is created, governed, and run by Wounaan Nonam internally displaced in Bogota.
